Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Board of the Hellenic Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (HESPRAS) and the Board of the Hellenic Association for the Treatment of Maxillofacial Cancer (HATMC), it is an honor and a pleasure for us to invite you to participate in the first International Meeting on Aesthetic and Reconstructive Facial Surgery that will be held on the beautiful island of Mykonos, Greece, at the Royal Myconian Hotel between May, 13-17 2009.

This is one of the very few occasions that aesthetic and reconstructive surgeons meet with colleagues from neighboring specialties to share gained valuable experience and communicate it between them. This is done in the middle of the Aegean Archipelagos, in Mykonos, an island that represents the epitome of aesthetic ancient Greek culture, and the motherland of Cycladic civilization.

The invitation we are extending to you to join the highest echelon of contemporary surgeons and other medical specialists that work in the field of facial surgery is not only didactic but educational and enlightening for the experienced, trainees and the practitioners of facial aesthetic or reconstructive surgery.

Binding aesthetics with reconstruction that represents the theme of our Congress is not only a need or necessity but also the aphorism of contemporary facial surgery. With this in mind, we will all try to find ways to improve our refined techniques, enhance our superb results and discover new pathways in an effort to provide to our patients an even better service by minimizing complications and enhancing the benefits that contemporary surgery can provide to them.

The academic program will cover all the aspects of aesthetic and Reconstructive Facial Surgery from Fillers and Botulin Toxin A to the most sophisticated approaches for facial rejuvenation, rhinoplasty, facial implants, fat transfer, endoscopy as well as microsurgery, aesthetic facial reconstruction, maxillofacial cancer etc.

A distinguished faculty from around the world will cover the full scope of facial surgery.

Facial surgery is probably one of the extreme paradigms of team work and collaboration of many diverse and different medical and biological disciplines with all having the same goal: improving the quality of life of our patients.

The intention of this Congress is to be threefold. Educational, scientific and recreational. Educational for the young and the older, scientific for the inventing and inquiring minded and recreational, for all of us.

We intend to prepare and deliver a memorable scientific event for the years to come. One that will broaden our scientific horizons and strengthen our cultural ties through the social program.
